A clamp meter is an electrical testing tool that combines the functionality of a basic digital multimeter with a current sensor. There are a range of models, including voltage detectors, voltage leak detectors, voltage power detectors, metric detectors, and current detectors. Many clamp meters can also measure additional parameters such as capacitance, resistance, and power—either directly through the clamps or via handheld digital instruments with external clamps (available in one or three-stage ranges).
